In order to extend and deepen the broadcast experience of the popular Dutch soap Goede Tijden, Slechte Tijden (GTST) RTL developed a groundbreaking trans-media concept aimed at bridging the nine week summer break. Together with Endemol and The Project Company RTL launched a special app in 2012: Who Is Tim? The app evolved around a new mysterious character in GTST, which was introduced in the series just before the summer break. Viewers who downloaded the app, were granted access to Tim’s notebook in which they could find clues about his identity.

The transmedia concept Who Is Tim? gave fans access to Tim's notebook during nine weeks. The app was downloaded 280,000 times and had more than 213,000 active users. The app was number 1 in the Dutch appstore and brought worldwide even a top 8 position between apps like YouTube and Google Maps.
